(4)Promote various departmental curriculum planning and implement industrial internship crediting systems for students during winter and summer vacations.
(5)Invite industra1 business management rankers with ample experiences and excellent alumni to deliver lectures and introduce the latest knowledge and techniques about practical affairs.
4. Service Education
Promote character and moral education to cultivate positive values. Since school year 2007, the Service Education has been regulated as a required course of no credit. Before graduation, students must fulfill 74 hours of courses.
5. Promotion Education
Coordinate with governmental policies and implement industrial manpower package plans like the industrial university plans, academic-industrial cooperation plans, Taiwan & German elite plans and creativity & academic-industrial elite cultivation plans, etc.
6. Academic-industrial Cooperation
(1)Strengthen internship and academic-industrial cooperation, give aids for student employment, integrate with employment curricula, deliver lectures about practical affairs, host symposiums for employment guidance and conduct education and training for practical affairs.
(2)Aggressively cultivate students to receive the skill examinations, contests and certifying guidance, join academic-industrial cooperation and help professors with R&D and educational materials for practical affairs.
(3)Invite industra1 business management rankers with ample experiences and excellent alumni to deliver lectures, introduce the latest knowledge and techniques about practical affairs, host employment fairs and increase the interaction opportunities between students and industries.
(4)Promote student regional internship plans during winter and summer vacations, focus on student features to provide effective guidance and aids for employment and aggressively search for possible opportunities for student internship in excellent industrial business organizations.
(5)Establish the education hardware platform for student industrial internship, construct strategic alliance with cooperating business organizations, host industrial symposiums about practical affairs and arrange industrial visit for students.
(6)Establish a database and tracking mechanisms for graduates to obtain information relevant to employment and conduct employment satisfaction and employer satisfaction surveys for graduates.
7. International Exchange
(1)Aggressively cooperate and exchange with local and foreign universities, and establish sister school linkages.
(2)Encourage various departments to aggressively cooperate with local and international business organizations. Currently, the Engineering College is the only one to establish cooperation linkages with 3 foreign business organizations.
(3)In 2006, Professor Malagoria from the University of Paris VI, France visited. In 2007, Professor Krausz, from the Limoges University, conducted a week of visiting lectures. In 2008, Dr. Yi-ming Huang, assistant professor from the Department of the Chemical Engineering passed the Educational Dream Fulfilling Plans. During summer vacation in 2009, students were sent for foreign internship plans hosted by Limoges University, France.
(4)Since 2008, the Malaysia Chinese oversea student, Mr. Liu, Yu-chuang, started his graduate school programs at the Refrigeration Engineering Department of Engineering College with the research plans titled Clean Room Design and Examination Techniques under the instruction of Dr. Fu-Ren Wang, associate professor of the Department of Refrigeration, Air-Conditioning and Energy Engineering.
8. Hold Green Technology Engineering and Applied Science Symposiums
To achieve the version for an excellent industrial university oriented by green technology, annual green technology and applied science symposiums (October, 14th in 2009) are regularly hosted to integrate the research achievements about academic-industrial cooperation plans with relevant research themes like green technology design and precision production, green machining tools and automation, green materials, green chemical engineering, green energy-saving and green energy technology to propagandize school features and enhance school reputation.
9. Establish educational platforms for green energy in middle Taiwan areas and fuel cell laboratories.
In 2008, the Engineering College coordinates with the Middle Taiwan Educational Resource Center founded by Yunlin Technology University to establish educational platforms for green energy technology. Currently, there have been numerous educational symposiums about fuel cells held. There are nearly 10 universities in middle Taiwan areas invited to join green energy research seminars and theme contests in middle Taiwan.
After approvals allowed by management ranker meeting, the Engineering College establish the fuel cell laboratory and aggressively enhance examination and testing facilities. It aims to increase academic-industrial cooperation opportunities and achieve the ultimate goals to become an excellent industrial university oriented by green technology.
10. Aside from aforesaid achievements, the Engineering College is now implementing:
(1)the enhancement for students to operate practical affairs, internship educational environment for various departments, and give aids to improvement plans for major laboratories at various departments.
(2)the support aids to the Refrigeration Engineering Department for crop cultivation plans with solar energy (mushroom cultivation like Pleurotus eryngii and pocket-sized mushrooms).
(3)Encourage various faculties and departments for positioning in accordance with current faculties and equipment, consolidate consensus and establish technology feature centers in good coordination with regional industrial development performed by academic-industrial cooperation.
(4)The Engineering College has finished self-orientation curriculum planning since March 15th, 2007.
